Martial Arts
Martial Arts allows children and adults to develop their spirit, mind, and body through discipline in an encouraging, non-intimidating, and family friendly environment. Our instructors are among the best in their respective martial arts and will ensure that participants learn the value of hard work, discipline, honor, integrity, and respect for themselves and others.
At the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, we want to make everyone’s development and safety a top priority. You and your child will learn the abilities of restraint, focus and control. We offer multiple types of martial arts for everyone. Classes and ages vary per location.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling and closed quarters style of self defense in which leverage and technique are used to defend one’s self from attack. This class is designed for beginners and experienced BJJ practitioners alike. This class takes students through 32 lessons that teach approximately 100 of the most fundamental techniques required to be an effective BJJ practitioner. The focus of the this class is to prepare students for real life self-defense situations and is taught in the spirit of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu’s fighting philosophy.
Classes will meet on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:30 – 8pm and Saturday 11 – 12:30. Classes are restricted to 20 participants.
